Son objectif principal est de d\u00e9terminer si la plan\u00e8te rouge a jadis abriter de la vie.\u00a0Il sillonnera la surface martienne \u00e0 la recherche de mol\u00e9cules organiques et d&rsquo;\u00e9ventuelles traces de vie.<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Selon certains sp\u00e9cialistes, la mission \u00e0 venir pourrait comporter <a href=\"http:\/\/www.universetoday.com\/95819\/curiosity-and-the-issue-of-planetary-protection\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">un risque de contamination du sol martien<\/a> par des bact\u00e9ries terrestres.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Les ing\u00e9nieurs de la NASA ont d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 une nouvelle technologie d&rsquo;atterrissage qui implique le d\u00e9ploiement d&rsquo;un parachute et de fus\u00e9es pour freiner la descente, et, de ce fait, minimiser les risques de casse.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/BudlaGh1A0o\" width=\"560\" height=\"314\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Au cours de cette proc\u00e9dure, les roues du rover de la NASA toucheront directement le sol martien. Cette technique diff\u00e8re des pr\u00e9c\u00e9dentes missions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Le robot \u00e9tait habituellement descendu sur une plateforme d\u2019atterrissage o\u00f9 il restait quelques jours avant de sillonner le sol rouge.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Le temps pass\u00e9 par le robot sur la plateforme avant que ses roues n\u2019entrent en contact direct avec la surface de Mars \u00e9tait suffisant pour que la quasi-totalit\u00e9 des bact\u00e9ries soient d\u00e9truites par les rayons ultra-violets pr\u00e9sents dans l\u2019environnement de la plan\u00e8te.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Des tests ont d\u00e9montr\u00e9 qu&rsquo;un rayonnement de ce type peut tuer jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 96 % des bact\u00e9ries.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Toujours est-il que, selon le microbiologiste\u00a0<strong>Andrew C.
